The new program reflects the company’s focus on and commitment to expanding its special education programs.

April 4, 2016, Camden, New Jersey – Catapult Learning, Inc. today announced the acquisition of Aurora Day School, a specialized school program in Peoria, AZ, that serves students with a variety of special needs. Effective April 1, 2016, the school will join Catapult Learning’s Schools Division, which includes schools and programs specifically designed for special education students classified with emotional disabilities, learning disabilities, and autism spectrum disorders, as well as students with behavior-based challenges who need alternative education programming.

Aurora Day School will be Catapult Learning’s second Arizona-based program; the company currently runs Sierra Academy of Scottsdale, a program that serves learning-disabled students. The acquisition of the Aurora program represents Catapult Learning’s commitment to broadening its reach within the special and alternative education fields. This commitment is a significant factor in the company’s strategy for growth, which was created as a result of the company’s recent merger with Specialized Education Services, Inc.

Andrea Vargas, President of Catapult Learning’s Schools Division, expressed enthusiasm for the addition of Aurora Day School, both for its proximity to Sierra Academy as well as for the staff’s and leadership’s understanding of and dedication to the students. “We think the acquisition is a perfect fit, as Sierra Academy and Aurora Day School share the same vision and values for our customers, staff, students, and families,” said Ms. Vargas. “The school leadership team has established a culture of programmatic excellence that we are proud to have as part of Catapult Learning’s Schools Division, and we look forward to continuing to expand our reach to these deserving students and providing them with the greatest opportunities for future success.”

Aurora Day School’s leadership and staff, many of whom have been with the program for several years, will remain at the school and continue to provide the same level of high-quality education and social-emotional support for its students. While the school’s day-to-day operations will also remain unaffected by the change in ownership, the school will benefit greatly from Catapult Learning’s decades of academic expertise and experience in providing quality special education.
