Title I Instructional Programs for Private and Religious School Students

Catapult Learning’s instructional programs are designed to improve student achievement among low-performing students. Our research-based programs are aligned to the National Reading Panel, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and state standards. Each instructional program integrates an effective combination of:

  • Individualized assessment
  • Small groups with direct instruction
  • Guided and independent practice
  • Student motivation
  • Parent involvement

An Intervention Framework That Supplements, Supports and Enhances Classroom Instruction

Through our multi-leveled Intervention Framework, Catapult Learning partners with schools and school districts to supplement, support, and reinforce the core instructional program of the school and provides direct intervention services for at-risk students.

  • Level I – Classroom Instruction
Classroom instruction is the core instructional program implemented by the classroom teacher at the local school. Catapult Learning’s instructional programs are designed to supplement, support and enhance classroom instruction in order to meet the varied needs of low-achieving students. We also provide professional development programs to support school staff.

  • Level II – Small Group Instructional Services
Because the needs of some students are not met in the traditional classroom environment, Catapult Learning’s Level II instructional programs are specifically designed to provide small-group instruction that is intensive, systematic and explicit. In order to meet the needs of the targeted population, Level II Intervention programs are implemented in small groups by highly trained and certified Catapult Learning teachers and focus on the critical elements of a successful reading or math program. The purpose of intervention at this level is to support students in acquiring the essential skills and strategies for successful reading or math performance and to avoid the need for more intensive intervention.

  • Our Level II Instructional Program Offerings include:

  • Level III – Individuals With Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Services
Catapult Learning’s Level III programs for private and religious school students are designed to be more intensive and strategic to meet the individual needs of those students who show a sustained lack of adequate progress despite remedial activities. Often these students have been identified via the Child Find process for IDEA funded services. Each student works on an individual plan and learns at his or her own pace to ensure that skills are mastered before moving on to new and more difficult skills. Recent studies have demonstrated that individualized tutoring that was intensive and evidence-based can bring about significant durable improvements to students' reading accuracy and fluency (Shaywitz et al 2004). As Torgesen et al indicate, the power of intensive intervention can be evidenced in large, generalized and stable changes in the reading ability of students (2001).
