Stephen Freeman President and CEO
In 1976, Stephen Freeman was a co-founder of the private and religious schools educational services business that was ultimately acquired by Sylvan Learning Systems in 1995 and later became Catapult Learning. His professional experience has focused on the development and management of educationally related services programs for nonpublic and public schools—spanning three decades. Steve is a school psychologist as well as a licensed clinical psychologist, and has practiced as both. He holds a BA in Psychology and an MA in School Psychology from Temple University.
Kathy Donovan Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Kathy Donovan joined Catapult Learning in November 2008. Kathy has more than 25 years of financial experience in a variety of companies and positions. Prior to joining Catapult Learning, Kathy served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Medquist Inc, a NASDAQ listed medical transcription company. Prior to Medquist, Kathy held a number positions with Dendrite International including Vice President and Corporate Controller, Vice President and Treasurer and most recently as the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Kathy holds a B.S. in Finance from Georgetown University.
Michael Giammanco Vice President, Educational Operations
Michael Giammanco joined Catapult Learning in 2010. Michael has held key leadership positions with Kaplan, Motorola and AT&T, most recently as Senior Vice President of Operations and Professional Services with Kaplan’s e-learning subsidiary where he built high performing teams and re-engineered processes around the professional services group and client service operations. Mr. Giammanco has a history of building strong client-facing teams focused on quality, service delivery and operational best practices. Michael has his MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a BA from Rutgers University with additional Executive Education at the Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania as well as Penn State University’s Smeal College of Business.
Traci Burgess Senior Vice President, School Partnerships
Traci Burgess joined Catapult Learning in April 2009. Traci has more than 15 years of sales and marketing experience in a variety of companies, has been involved in the education industry for over a decade, and is a former high school mathematics teacher. Prior to joining Catapult Learning, Traci served as Vice President, K12 Sales at Blackboard, Inc. Traci holds a B.S. in Math from Iowa State University.
Bob George Senior Vice President, Operations Midwest, West and South
Bob George joined Catapult Learning in March 1997. Bob is an educator with 40 years experience. His education career began as middle school teacher in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mr. George has worked with students from 4 years of age to adults. For the past 28 years, he has built an extensive foundation in business operations, sales, and management. Prior to joining Catapult Bob was Zone Sales Manager for Southern California for World Book Encyclopedia.
Jose Toscano Senior Vice President, Operations New Jersey
Jose Toscano joined Catapult Learning in 2010 and brings more than 20 years of experience in operations, senior sales management, marketing and development. Prior to joining Catapult Learning, Jose worked for Johnson & Johnson, Abbott Laboratories, The Hertz Corporation and Continental Airlines where he consistently built highly effective organizations, teams and structure that resulted in consistent increases in sales and operational performance. Jose holds an MBA in Marketing and a Bachelor of Science degree with a double concentration in Marketing and Management from Montclair State University.
Kathleen Dowd Regional Vice President, Operations Mid-Atlantic/Southeast
Kathleen joined Catapult Learning in June 1998. Kathleen came to Catapult with more than 15 years experience in education, starting as a teacher and administrator, then moving into multi-site educational management. Prior to Joining Catapult, she served as East Coast Director of Operations for an educational service company. Kathleen holds a Masters Degree (M.ED.) in Educational Administration from Temple University.
Matt Gambino Vice President, Marketing
Matt Gambino has more than 15 years of experience in the education industry, focusing in the areas of marketing, sales, and product development. Prior to joining Catapult Learning in 2009, Matt spent over a decade at Thomson Learning, one of the world’s largest educational publishing organizations. Matt is also an adjunct professor at Bunker Hill Community College, where he teaches computers. He holds a B.A. in English from Bridgewater State College.
