Summer Learning Leap Overview
See how Learning Leap helped Detroit Public School students make significant gains in six weeks.
Research shows that vulnerable students who participate in summer learning stay sharp, hit the ground running in the fall, and are far more likely to achieve academically in the coming school year. Catapult Learning’s customizable Summer Learning Leap program gives kids the rigor they need—while keeping things fun in the process.
Instruction. Learning Leap math, reading, and writing instruction is backed by scientific research, aligns with the new Common Core State Standards, and is supported by Catapult Learning’s unique educational quality and management tools.
- Enrichment. Keeping learners engaged is critical in any summer learning program. Activity centers in each Learning Leap classroom feature learning games, self-selected reading, and much more. And to help children spread their wings, the program includes field trips to local museums, art institutes and other points of interest in the community.
- Family Involvement. Learning Leap enhances family participation by offering strategies designed to promote literacy at home. Families are invited to an orientation where they are encouraged to view the curriculum and meet the teachers. Progress reports are provided throughout the program, and Parent Involvement Workshops are offered to help foster a positive family dynamic.
Summer Learning Leap is our innovative summer school learning program that combines intensive academic instruction with enrichment activities, and support for teachers and families. The goal: eliminate summer learning loss and prepare students to transition to the next grade level.
