AchieveScience
Overview
Standards-based instruction to help bridge the science achievement gap
The wonder of science not only engages students—it helps broaden their pursuit of knowledge in other academic areas. That’s why we developed AchieveScience. It’s a brand new instructional intervention program designed to help students develop basic science literacy and better interpret science-based, expository literature.
Supported by a variety of vocabulary-building activities and graphically rich lesson materials, students strengthen their understanding of concepts in life science, earth science and physical science. By showing how headings, photographs, and illustrations work together to convey ideas, AchieveScience helps students process the information found in science-based textbooks and increase their reading fluency in other subjects.
Aligned with the National Science Education Standards, AchieveScience is taught by district or Catapult teachers, and can be used during the school day, before or after school hours, or as part of a summer learning program.
